We are an interdisciplinary research centre dealing with digital technologies for space and the built environment.
 
Key feature of the centre is the spatial simulation lab - a 3D VR environment.The lab represents twenty years of experience with digital city models and experimental simulation environments for spatial planning. In addition the interdisciplinary centre deals with developing and testing of different methods of analyses and simulations for exploring new possibilites and ways in spatial simulation and modelling.
 
The main focus of the Spatial Simulation Lab [srl:sim; StadtRaumLabor] aims at the illustration and testing of regional and urban visions in order to create a sustainable and sustaining built environment. Dealing with the subject region/city by covering past, present and future aspects will issue a programmatic approach. Equipped therewith the regional/urban space of tomorrow  is to be tackled experimentally and the spatial impact of projects can be clearly visualised, tested and evaluated.
